Ottawa Sport Council releases a new Letter of Instructions for vaccination requirement for sport community in Ottawa !

A new letter of instructions has been released for vaccination requirements for the sport community in Ottawa. This is an example of what Community Sport Councils & Accessible Sport Councils in Ontario can do to promote the necessary vaccination requirements in their community !

“The Ottawa Sport Council is working closely with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) to ensure that community sport organizations  receive timely information regarding COVID as it applies to their operations.

Please review the new Letter of Instructions (LOI) issued by Dr. Vera Etches, Medical Officer of Health for the City of Ottawa. This letter outlines additional requirements for Owners, Operators and Persons Responsible for indoor facilities in the City of Ottawa where Organized Sports are played and/or practiced. The LOI requires proof of Identification and proof of being fully vaccinated (or proof of being entitled to a Medical Exemption) for all individuals, 12 years of age and older, who support indoor Organized Sports.

The Instructions are additional to measures under current Provincial legislation will be effective October 9, 2021 at 12:01 AM.

Ottawa Public Health and the Ottawa Sport Council will host a townhall on October 8th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm to present the LOI and answer any questions you might have. Please click on this link to join the webinar, no registration required.
